Hey! It’s SO Great To Meet You!
My name is Kayty, i’m the oldest of 3 girls from a shoreline town in New England! I started writing a book when I was in 6th grade and the opening title of the book has stayed true in my heart “I love green tea and I hate goodbyes more than thunderstorms!” I may replace the green tea now with espresso, but hey the point remains!
We moved a lot as a kid life wasn’t always smooth but there was one thing I came to know. We sat at many, many peoples tables in all of our transitions! I came to know very quickly what made me feel welcome, what made me feel like a distant stranger. What conversations I wished happened, what ones Im glad did. Transitions are hard on the heart but they mold you, shape you and made me LONG for gathering people around my own table.
My husband and I moved to Thailand in 2015 to work as full-time volunteers. In a community of people from all around the world with similar stories I started to fill our very first table. Finding how much there was a need for gathering, I kept the food coming and the table as the center of community & relationship building. The reality was my heart longed for this type of relationship & those around me did too!

In this season my health declined. Auto immune symptoms were on the rise and hospitality grew increasingly difficult. Little by little I realized that those around the table also experienced either health difficulties, health goals or diet preferences. I took on the challenge to make food beautiful and delicious but in a way that I can eat those around my table could too! So many things keep people from the table- I didn’t want these limitations to be one of them!
As I started to learn about the power of the food we put in our body to either hurt or heal, I become passionate about being an advocate to redefine clean eating to the point where its so good everyone wants to eat it. The truth is, all of our health can benefit from these intentional changes! So whats my heart as Kayty, aside from Gather?
My heart…is to know your heart! I want us as people, as a generation to get back around the table. To know our neighbors, engage in dialogue, hear each others hearts! I want us to share victories, walk alongside each other in trials and build relationship through time shared at our tables! I want to have hard conversations in safe places- I want the table to be a place of learning and understanding. Instead of rushing and distancing. As I learn more about the beauty of hospitality, I want to empower you to do the same! I believe that it could lead to a beautiful ripple effect!
